Following a phone call from local architect Martin Walsh, we were asked to quote for a new-build oak frame and SIPS panel, detached, chalet-style house.
The impressive design was one that excited us greatly and we were soon meeting the architect, client and SIPS panel supplier at our offices. The oak frame and SIPS panels would provide the structural shell of the building, the masonry you see is the cladding.
The structural engineers collaborated and finalised the structural details
Plans were then put in place as to the build method and timescales were agreed. We were on site first with the ground floor frame. SIPS panels were then fitted to eaves height, before we fitted the oak trusses and roof beams. SIPS returned to fit their roof panels and then the client’s builder completed the masonry cladding.
The build went to plan and all trades were able to work alongside each other, ensuring the build schedule was met efficiently.
THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS A VISUALLY-STUNNING PROPERTY THAT IS WELL DESIGNED WITH ALL THE JAW-DROPPING FEATURES IN THE PERFECT PLACE. THE HOUSE IS VERY GREEN AND INCREDIBLY THERMALLY EFFICIENT.
